Walking Dead Blog

The Walking Dead.                                                                 Tom S

The show 'The Walking Dead' is a huge action packed drama which is viewed by millions every episode, which is the main reason i decided to choose this show other than the fact I am a massive fan myself. The Walking Dead is an American TV show, therefore the main place to view this show is on an American TV network however people within the UK get to view the programme on a channel called Fox but to the annoyance of some fans it is on air a day later than the US. The show was created by a director called Frank Darabont, the Frenchman has not only created one of the biggest shows in the world currently, he has gone on to be nominated for many awards  such as Academy awards and a Golden Globe. As well as Frank and the amazing writers the show wouldn't be successful without good actors, and the man who plays the main character in the series 'Rick' is a world wide phenomenon because of the role he plays. Andrew Lincoln has also been very successful in terms of awards, just recently he won the Saturn Award for 'Best actor on television' . As well as Andrew there are many actors on this show, the show focuses on the many stories each individual character has and this is just part of what makes this show one of the best.

The show is based around the main character Rick who falls into a coma after being shot whilst on police duty, he then wakes up months later to his hospital empty and the world changed forever. From then on the story takes many twists as the story never gets boring and always leaves the viewer on edge, the gore, fights, relationships and the many zombie scenes throughout the whole 7 seasons are what make fans come back for more, the constant fear the their favourite character could be written off at any moment and the just constant need to understand who is doing what and where is a massive reason to the shows popularity. The show is based around survival, it educates the viewer on what to do in a zombie apocalypse as well as not what to do but is not everyone's cup of tea.

To enjoy this show you need to be okay with graphic scenes and constant fighting, you need to be intrigued by the action and drama, its a show that takes a lot of time out of your life and you need to be patient with it, it takes time for each season to come back around and every episode is an hour long at a minimum. But overall i recommend this show to anyone, it is great for people to learn from as there are many life lessons you take from it such as being strong for other people, if you are tired you show weakness, you fight and stay strong to survive which can be compared to life in general. Such as school and work, you work hard and stay strong to make it somewhere in life, you give it your all to succeed. So i encourage anyone to go out and watch this series and become involved in a worldwide franchise and enjoy every single moment of it.
